Worked in collaboration with GNS Science developers to update the GeoNet website and their Android and iOS app.
GeoNet is the number one website New Zealanders turn to after they feel an earthquake.
Website: www.geonet.org.nz
For the mobile apps the navigation was simplified, fonts, icons and colours were updated to make them more accessible, and components from both material and human interface guidelines were introduced.
For the website, the information architecture along with the visual design was improved by increasing font sizes, creating clear differentiation between primary and secondary navigation, and implementing distinctive heading styles across all pages. A more modern and interactive UI was introduced to align with the GeoNet brand.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 in the iOS app store, with over 10,000 ratings.
5 stars. I love this app! A quake happens and it’s pretty much up on GeoNet within a minute or so, and then you can see people reporting on it almost in real time.
5 stars. As a non technical person I find the information very interesting. It allows me to enter and understand a part of science seen by few other than those involved. The information provided is easily assimilated.
5 stars. Fast and always working. I can go to the app 5 seconds after an earthquake and the details are there. It seems to handle lots of people using it at the same time.
